The Eagle/Condor Sculpture Now Has A Heart!

Dear valued friends and followers,

It just so happens that my Eagle/Condor sculpture has received the makings of a heart in her chest…just in time for Valentine’s Day!…hence, HEđź’–art Forms

As I Had Explained in Past Newsletters…

In 2003 I had a waking dream of a large white bird of prey with wings outstretched in flight. The entire body was made of circuit board patterning instead of feathers.

The idea lay dormant for years, but lately I’ve been bringing it to resolution in the form of The Eagle & The Condor assemblage. It’s an expression of a continued indigenous cultural identification in the digital era!

The number 500 in the belly of the bird is there to represent the 500 year interval between 1492 (when Columbus landed) and 1992 (a time of the re-awakening of the 7th generation).

The Benefits of Looking Down While Walking

The upcycled heart parts are a direct result of often looking down while walking or hiking (which, by the way, is also a good practice for avoiding snakes).

…and below you can see a whole crate of random metallic objects collected over time. Towards the center is the choice find that I am using for the heart! …HEđź’–art Forms

I actually have no idea what type of machine or plumbing part this is. In fact, if you know please hit reply and tell me. I’d love to find out!

In any case, it’s got two holes, one for the pulmonary artery and one for the aorta!

Carving the Chest

Here I’m carving the chest of the Eagle/Condor to create an avenue for “veins and arteries” connected to the heart. I’ve always loved digging into wood with my chisel set!

Initial “Pre-heart” Wiring Layout:

Different combinations of wiring are being tested and will eventually run through the heart and into the wings, head and torso.
